Elaine swimming with Jef Mallett. How cool is that?!? I love Jef's comic strip "Frazz". I remember crossing the Straits of Mackinac years ago when I was a kid. (We used the bridge...)
Cameron Bellamy is attempting Barbados again. He took off earlier as the races were going on and his tracker is up and running. It’s been rough stormy weather so he’s earning his check for sure. He just passed by our hotel about 5k from the start at Copacabana Beach

Incredible! The progress and sustained pace are remarkable!
He’s on track to finish! Very exciting!
He finished around 4am. It’s pretty incredible. The winds and waves at the north end of the island are treacherous, to say the least.
A little late on this one, but.... CONGRATS Elaine @emkhowley on swimming around Absecon Island !!

Kirk McKinney will attempt to become the first man to swim across Monterey Bay (four women have already done it) -- https://track.rs/mbsa/
20 Bridges #1 -- https://track.rs/NYOW/
Joe and John Zemaitis, tandem swim across Monterey Bay: https://track.rs/mbsa/
This is not a marathon swim, but some lad is swimming the length of the Irish coast (500KM). Multiple stage swim in a wetsuit. This is his second attempt. He's on day 4.
https://www.marathonman.co/swim-tracker/
His previous atttempt fizzled out after 2 weeks or so due to bad weather and boat issues.
Zemaitis bros are badasses. They are 13 hours in and haven't seen the happy side of 60 degrees yet (air or water).

Sunday trackers:
I think Charlotte and Steve's teams forgot to turn on their trackers.
We're all just carbon, water, starlight, oxygen and dreams
It looks like Steve is taking the long way around....he's much farther out from the shore than Charlotte is.... isn't he?
Fun trackers for today:
Tues July 16
@emkhowley & Kim Garbarino triple BLS are sharing a spot here.
We're all just carbon, water, starlight, oxygen and dreams
Friends don't let friends use the default SPOT page.

Remarkable that a mere 60 seconds separated John & Joe Zemaitis on their respective North Channel swims, despite swimming four days apart...

Thanks @evmo for recent update. Is there any more info on Liz Fry's Lake Michigan Swim? Looks like the tracker hasn't started yetas of 9-1@9:46amChicago? Was it delayed again? Very exciting swim replicating Ted Ericsons' solo finish in the first of the Wriggle sponsored mega-marathons of the early 1960s.
Latest update is tomorrow morning (9/2). Wind isn’t great.
Does anyone know what happened in Courtney Paulk's 2nd way? It seems they went back sailing, but only at 3 knots?

Liz's swim is under way!
@bruno she called it after one way, conditions were pretty rough.
Congrats to Liz on the amazing swim.
New tracker for today - @abbygirlrose is swimming across Santa Monica Bay: https://track.rs/abby
This swim has only been done three times before, by Jen Schumacher, Forrest Nelson, and Amy Gubser.
Also 13-year old James Savage swimming the 12-mile width of Lake Tahoe, piloted by Capt. Tom 'Reptile' Linthicum - https://track.rs/tahoe
@abbygirlrose is doing great!!!
Catherine Breed is swimming Monterey Bay -
https://track.rs/mbsa
Sarah @ssthomas is swimming Anacapa Island to Oxnard -
https://track.rs/ssthomas
A new women's course record for the Anacapa Channel - 12.2 miles in 5:07:10 (unofficial time). Way to go, Sarah!
So apparently @ssthomas has given up distance swimming and taken up sprinting.
It did bear a certain resemblance to Katie Ledecky entering the 50 Free.
Katie Blair is attempting an unprecedented double crossing of the St Lucia Channel (68km), starting shortly.
