Hi everyone! I am swimming on 6/2. I was wondering if anyone else who is swimming on 6/2 has land support people? My partner, Rick, is hoping to come see me finish but it would kind of stink to be alone in the Battery in the wee hours of the morning. Wanted to see if anyone else had people coming to see them finish and greet them on shore so we could connect our ground support people so they have a group to hang with. Let me know! ❤️❤️

Congrats on an awesome, swim, @Kswims!! So glad you were able to get in before these horrendous wildfires took over Manhattan (+ environs). I guess it really is true -- early bird gets the worm! 🐦
My 20B swim is currently scheduled for 9 July -- would love to connect with any other swimmers who are swimming on/around that day, or who will be in NYC that weekend!

How did everyone do today, especially considering the air quality issues of late?
Hi swimmers and NYOW team. Thanks for the zoom recording for us overseas swimmers that forgot to get up in the middle of the night to watch live!
I have a couple of additional questions you guys may be able to help with:
1 - Do people wear channel grease with lanolin or just Vaseline?
2 - When feeding do you recommend filing the bottles full, taking a drink and then handing it back to the kayaker (and drink from the same bottle on the next feeds until it is done)? Or have multiple bottles with 200-300ml in each and have the boat crew refil once running low.
3 - Is it one boat per swimmer on days when there are two swimmers in the water or is the boat shared but we have individual kayakers?
4 - Do we need to reconfirm approx swim pace for the calculation of start time or is the pace/start time not so sensitive?
Thanks and looking forward to hearing about all your swims! I'm at the end of the season so hope to learn from your tips and experience.

1. Salinity levels are lower than the EC. Many just grease friction areas.
2. Your preference. Kayaks have deck bags that can hold a few bottles. Your boat and crew are always close by as well.
3. Every swimmer is supported by a kayaker and motorized escort. Tandems share a motorized escort.
4. Only if it is different than that on your application.

Hi all! I'll be swimming 20 Bridges 1st Sep, and travelling into Manhattan tomorrow. I've been in touch with CIBBOWS so will head to Coney Island this Sunday 27th Aug for their morning swims - hope to meet some of you there!
I'm also looking for a pool to keep those arms going before 20 Bridges, either close to Battery Park or in Midtown (just north of Times Square). Wondering if anyone could recommend any lap pools with day membership and open early or in the evenings (before 6am or after 7pm) in either of those areas please? I've looked around but no luck with public pools given their opening hours, and Asphalt Green which was great the last time I visited is closed for refurb at the moment. Many thanks in advance!
I love the Vanderbilt YMCA but they can be stingy about day membership... Also look into Manhattan health Club... I am crewing for a swim on Aug 30 and would love to find a pool so please report back where you end up!
