Perth to Rottnest "alternative" channel swim (Port to Pub) cancelled due to covid restrictions :(

The second of the yearly Perth to Rottnest swims has been cancelled. The Rottnest Channel Swim went ahead as expected in February 2022. Since then though Western Australia has finally opened it's borders, and for the first time ever we are experiencing covid-19 (omicron) in largish numbers.
The new restrictions we are operating under have made it impossible for the event to go ahead.

That's a shame.
In England we no longer have any COVID restrictions.
We've essentially had no covid-19 until now. We've had a few lockdowns over the past 2 years, but now that we've opened up there's a whole sway of restrictions in place, to hopefully mitigate large numbers of cases.
