Why do I have to be fat?

I swim so much better (easier) when I am at a weight well above where I would like to be. I have played with it. Drop ten or fifteen pounds....comfort and fatigue become an issue. Gain ten or fifteen and gain the shape of Fernando Valenzuela...and I’m cruising along just fine. What the heck?! Why can’t I be a beefcake AND a marathon swimmer?? ?

Because if you come out of the pool looking like a beefcake, no one blinks an eye because of course you're supposed to swim well.

But if you show up at the pool looking like Fat Bastard but swim like a dolphin, then people are impressed. ;)

    Fat floats. Muscle sinks.

Bonus... you don't need the pull buoys when you carry your own on you. :)

I have a pull buoy cut in half, otherwise my ass floats too high.
