I saw this. Only from Windsor does Detroit look like a nice place to swim to.

What I couldn't determine from the articles... how far did he actually swim? How wide is the river?
PS -- from looking at Google maps, and the claim that it was a double crossing, he only swam two miles tops. Also, there could have been a strong current according to the articles.
