Sydney, Australia - Bondi Beach

Craig Lenning and I will be having a stop-over in Sydney, Australia on our way to the Cook Strait next weekend. We would love the opportunity to swim at Bondi Beach! Is there anyone who can give us some insight as to the best way to travel from the airport to the beach? Any travel tips would be much appreciated! We would love some swimming company as well!!

Hi Darren, 2 options
1) Taxi- about $ 60-70each way 2) bus/Train/bus around $40-50 total but a lot less convenient
I am not sure what your email address is but if you drop Chloe an email chloe@chloemccardel.com- she can forward your details to Murph Renford who lives not far from Bondi (in fact also works at the airport )- he is always up for a swim .

I should add- I am trying to convince Murph to do cook strait (he has done the triple crown )- so catching up with you both might help get him over the line

Worth going to Icebergs while you are there (http://icebergs.com.au/) - even if you are swimming in the ocean it is a great place to base yourself (they have a nice café and a bar and lockers for rent) and the entry fee at $6 is a bargain. There is a stairway that leads down from the pool to the ocean so you can skip the pool (though it is an interesting experience swimming in an ocean fed pool, especially when the waves are crashing over the edge) and gets you in past where the surfers are. The route from Icebergs, across Bondi and back is pretty much dead on a mile.
