Swimming at the ends of the day
In addition to my normal daily swim I’ve become drawn to a sun-rise swim once a week. The feeling of getting into dark water but knowing dawn is about to break brings a new sense of anticipation to the swim. And then to actually see the sun peek over the horizon and bathe you in the first warm light of the day is magical - especially in cold water!
This morning as I was getting out I met a large group of swimmers about to get in and one of them made a comment about shark feeding times.
Which make me think - am I being silly and taking a ridiculously unnecessary risk or is the actual risk of being munched at dawn or dusk overstated, compared to a daytime attack?
Anyone else enjoy swimming at dawn or dusk?
