Madeira Mixed Madness

I’m looking to do my first 10K this year and considering the Madeira Mixed Madness in St. Petersburg Florida. There are no rules posted on the website. Does anybody know if this is going to be a sanctioned MSF approved event? Or any other information on this event would be appreciated.

    MSF doesn't "sanction" events. For open water races/events, the concept of "sanctioning" mostly has to do with insurance. Like if an event organizer wants to use USMS insurance, they have to follow certain logistical guidelines & rules.

    I think the question you might be asking is: Is this event eligible to be included in the LongSwims Database. In this case, that mostly hinges on whether they post results that distinguish wetsuit swimmers from skin/unassisted swimmers. If so, most likely it will be included in the database.

    All event organizers should post swim rules though - so it may be worth asking the organizer if they can do that.
