What’s your diet like?

I’d love to know how you all eat. I don’t mean feeding during a swim/event/crossing, but overall daily diet. I’m suspecting I’m not eating enough because I often feel kind of powerless. I swim every day.

Thanks for any tips!

I have 2-3 meals per day, for each meal normally the portion for 2 people (i.e. I cook 2 servings according to the label for every meal). However if after a swim I may increase my portion size to 2.5 or even 3 servings.

I seldom have anything but regular full-sized meals of healthy food, only occasionally I will have soft drinks when it's part of a restaurant meal, and never have any snacks.

I swim around 5 days per week, previously totalling about 20-25 km, but now only 12 km because the water here is still about 11°C and I'm yet to get to 2 hours for a single swim.

I can highly recommend the book ," Food for Fitness", written by Anita Bean and published by Bloomsbury sport. It has really clarified sports nutrition for me and has helpful chapters for specific sports including swimming.

I eat Low Carb/Keto. We have a thread on this diet.

We're all just carbon, water, starlight, oxygen and dreams
