A beautiful stroke, in the "70 mins in" video.
This is sort of unfathomable.
English Channel ONE-way is something a far-off pipe dream of mine. This is truly amazing! And I'm so glad to see these extraordinary accomplishments by women in swimming! @sstthomas w 104 miles, Chloe McArdle w multiple EC swims last year and setting out for a 4-way this year! It's interesting that in the 1928 Olympics, the authorities got all in a lather b/c women, like many men, collapsed to the track after running the 800, yet Gertrude Ederle had by then successfully crossed the English Channel. Did those officials at the Olympics not read newspapers?
Gosh! What a powerful kick. Pretty impressive swimming.
In addition to track.rs, I'm watching this page:

Seems like she's got another 24-28 hours to cover as much route distance as she can before the wind goes sideways.

So, if she continues at her current pace of 1:22 per 100 yds (1:30/100M) (including feeds), she'll make it before the wind hits with 3-7 hours to spare.
The fastest two-way English Channel swims, for reference:
still a very brave effort, well done
Amazing swim. Look at those times. It's kind of crazy that this almost seems like a failed effort. She swims the Channel like most people swim in their lap pool. Outstanding!
Indeed. A GREAT accomplishment. Incredible, astounding attempt. Bet she does this in the future (if this is still a personal goal of hers). Following the swim on Tracker.rs was riveting.
