Vampire Swim is an international blood drive organized by open water swimmers to take place at multiple venues around the world on Halloween. Entry fee is minimal $10 and proof that participants have donated blood within the six weeks prior to the swim. Cash donations and surrogate donors in lieu of blood donations are allowed for those unable to donate for medical reasons. In just a few days since we rolled this out we have multiple venues signed up in the US, Canada, Scotland, and Ireland, with more expected this week, www.vampireswim.com and Facebook for more details.

Thanks to Dan Simonelli, there will be a Vampire Swim in San Diego. Lots of shoreline left for more Vampire Swims for those inclined to "Flaunt Your Fangs". Very pleased to welcome to the list of venues, Maryland (Janet Manning and Bill Shipp), Dublin (Fergal Somerville), Melbourne (Chloe McCardel). Blood is already starting to flow!!! In discussions with four more potential venues. Anyone wanting to participate or organize a venue, let me know,
The closest thing is the Champion of Champions on Oct 31. It has it's own thread and fb page as well.
