I'm really loving the tag line -- "The Only Sport That Can Save Your Life" -- of the new 'world's largest swim team' initiative, which supports every (Canadian) child being able to swim 25 meters by the age of 12. I sure hope they make t-shirts. :-)

Love this! I'm always taken aback when people I know say they never learned to swim--or that they began to learn only to have a swim program cut. I'm all the more aware that I was fortunate in having parents committed to all of us knowing how to swim.

There are too many preventable deaths in the U.S., this organization is trying to turn that around: http://swimstrongfoundation.org/

What I like about this initiative that Canada is launching is how far-reaching the effort seems to be. And for kids, it's an achievable goal, just enough to motivate, not intimidate. I'd love for something like that to be launched in the U.S. But I'm grateful for organizations like Swim Strong--definite step in the right direction.
