Santa Barbara Channel swims 2015

The SBCSA is now accepting (online) applications for 2015 solo and relay swims of the Santa Barbara Channel.
We offer swims ranging from 3.6 statute miles (Santa Rosa Island to San Miguel Island) to 62 statute miles (San Nicolas Island -- the famed "Island of the Blue Dolphins" -- to the mainland).
Our most popular swim -- 12.2 miles from Anacapa Island to the mainland -- is a perfect stepping stone to Catalina or the English Channel.
One of our sport's icons, @pennypalfrey, enjoys Santa Barbara so much that she has traveled from Australia to swim four different routes in the channel.
For more information on possible swim routes in the Santa Barbara Channel, see here:

We also have a freshly-designed website, here is the homepage:

And, possibly most exciting of all, we are now accepting ONLINE applications:

Please feel free to message me if you have any questions!

If you are considering a Santa Barbara Channel swim for 2015, just a heads-up: Our early-bird sanction fees expire May 1st!
We've substantially revamped our online presence this year, so come take a look if you haven't visited lately. Some useful links:
SBCSA's first channel swim of the year is in the water:

This is Samantha Allen, attempting an early-season swim from Anacapa Island to the California mainland. Water temp is 60.4F (15.8C).
Wow! Looks like she is flying.

Sarah Green, organizer of the popular Humboldt Bay Critter Crawl in Nor-Nor-NorCal, became the 48th person to cross the 12.2-mile Anacapa Channel yesterday. She finished in 8 hours 7 minutes, despite a lumpy day in the channel. Here is observer @Lynnkub's video:
